DBS has announced two more senior-level appointments, following its practice of grooming talent from within the organization to fill leadership positions.

Chen Ze Ling, currently Singapore head of corporate banking, has been appointed as group head of corporate and SME banking, effective April 1. He will succeed Koh Kar Siong, who has been named head of group audit, effective the same day.

Chen will report to Han Kwee Juan, group head of institutional banking ( IBG ).

Welson Jamin, currently head of IBG operations and international centres technology and operations, will be appointed group head of operations, effective April 1. He will report to Derrick Goh, who will assume the role of group chief operating officer on the same day.

Prior to his current role, he was most recently country head of DBS Australia, a role he assumed in 2019. He was also a key member of the founding team which established DBS’ Australia branch in 2015, which has grown to become a key international centre of the group.

Jamin has 25 years of technology and operations experience with DBS. In his current role, he has been instrumental in driving organizational transformation across 14 locations covering more than 2,000 operations professionals.

In recent years, he has led the transformation through the extensive use of workflows, the introduction of process improvements, and the pioneering of general artificial intelligence in operations.

Before that, he was involved in setting up new operational capabilities such as BusinessCare, and also led several technology infrastructure projects including the establishment of infrastructure for new branches, network and telephony migration, data centre management, and core banking projects.
