Bank of Singapore has appointed Vi Sun Yang ( 杨渭杉 ) as head of private banking for Asean, with effect from June 29. She will be a member of the bank’s global management committee, reporting to chief executive officer Jason Moo.

In her new role, Yang will lead the strategic growth and development of the bank’s franchise across the region – its largest market. Her appointment deepens its commitment to serving the wealth management needs of clients across Asean.

In 2025, Bank of Singapore recorded strong business momentum, surpassing its previously announced target of US$145 billion in assets under management ( AUM ) set in 2023, and growing its global AUM by more than 20%.

Yang is an industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in wealth management and a track record of leading both high-net-worth and ultra-high- net-worth front-office teams covering Southeast Asia.

She joins Bank of Singapore from Julius Baer, where she was market head for Southeast Asia. Prior to that, she spent 14 years with UBS Singapore, where she held several senior leadership roles, including head of the private client segment covering seven markets in Asia and market head for Indonesia. She previously held roles at American Express, DBS and Standard Chartered.

Yang’s appointment marks the latest in a series of strategic hires aimed at strengthening the bank’s leadership bench and accelerating growth. Most recently, in March 2026, Bank of Singapore appointed Eng Chien Chan as market group head for Greater China and Bernard Heng as head of customized solutions within its investment solutions group.

Yang holds a bachelor of business administration with first-class honours from the National University of Singapore, a master of science in wealth management from the University of Rochester, William E. Simon School of Business, and a master of advanced studies in finance from the University of Bern.
