The nimble nature of the bank allows it to punch above its weight and offer impactful solutions to clients within its core markets, aided by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and tokenization services. During the review period, the bank received a number of positive comments and feedback through direct client calls or via Asset Benchmark Research’s annual Treasury Review on how proactive the bank was in meeting their clients’ needs, often going above and beyond what was expected to address complex treasury pain points.

BNP Paribas wins as the Best ESG Transaction Bank in Asia for its strong commitment to guiding and supporting clients on their sustainability journey. During the review period, the bank doubled down on engagement with clients, taking pains to sort out their ESG strategy and coordinating with them on products such as sustainable deposits and sustainable trade finance options. The bank, moreover, displayed its ability to embed trade finance, along with project finance, in several key renewable energy projects in the region.

Standard Chartered wins the award as the Best Treasury & Cash Management Bank in the region, having taken a forward-thinking approach to engaging with clients on their day-to-day transactions, whether through automated reconciliation or multi-currency notional pooling across a vast network spanning the Middle East to Asia-Pacific. The bank showed professionalism in servicing a wide variety of clients, ranging from traditional multinational companies to emerging Web 3.0 companies. Standard Chartered has also enhanced areas such as its stablecoin offering and ESG-linked cash account services.

HSBC defends its title as the Best Working Capital & Trade Finance Bank in Asia, backed by strong client testimonials that highlight the positive impact of its solutions. From traditional trade to supply chain finance, HSBC continues to be a reliable partner for companies aiming to optimize their working capital across multiple jurisdictions. One notable development was the unveiling of its new core trade finance platform HTS, allowing clients to originate and manage their trade needs online in a personalized manner.

BNP Paribas is again chosen as the Best Supply Chain Finance Bank in Asia amid fierce competition. During the review period, the bank demonstrated expertise and creativity in crafting solutions for its clients. Going well beyond the usual receivables and payables financing structures seen at other banks, BNP Paribas provides syndicated financing structures that combine insured and uninsured segments to optimize financing. It has also embedded a hedge payables programme that helps reduce risks from local-currency financings.

Bank of China is again honored as the Best Renminbi Bank, delivering a full range of products and advisory offerings in several core Western markets, including the United States, and key renminbi hubs such as Hong Kong. Over the review period, clients shared how the bank proved itself a trusted partner in helping them navigate opportunities in using the Chinese currency, from crafting renminbi-denominated trade loans to tapping the onshore/offshore renminbi markets via panda or dim sum bonds.
