US-headquartered lender Citi has hired Florian Eichert as its managing director of sovereign, supranational and agency ( SSA ) and covered bond trading in its rates division in Frankfurt.
Eichert, who will join the bank from Crédit Agricole in August, brings over two decades of experience in the SSA and covered bond markets. At Crédit Agricole, he most recently led its covered bond and SSA research division. Prior to his tenure there, which began in 2010, he spent nearly six years as a covered bond analyst at LBBW.
As well, he has been a member of the steering committee of the European Covered Bond Council since 2015 and served as chairman of its data and statistics working group for eight years.
“His appointment underscores the bank’s unwavering commitment to offering our clients unparalleled investment strategy ideas, being a leading provider of liquidity in the secondary market and positioning us as a top firm in primary market underwriting,” Citi says. “His hiring is part of an ongoing strategy to invest in our SSA and covered bond businesses.”
