Citi names Asia head of custody
Aditya Sharma has worked for 19 years in multiple roles across ICG
The Asset 8 Sep 2022

Global lender Citi has appointed Aditya Sharma as its head of custody for Asia following the move of Aashish Mishra to become the head of treasury and trade solutions, financial institutional sales, earlier this year.

Sharma moves into the role from his current position as head of securities services for South Asia (India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh), which he managed successfully for the last four years, growing revenues, acquiring large domestic clients and transitioning global custodian and sovereign mandates under his leadership.

Over the years, he has been instrumental in launching listed derivative products and driving various capital market advocacy initiatives around settlement compression, collateral optimization, ease of market access for foreign investors, interoperability and algorithmic trading.

During his 19 years at Citi, Sharma has worked in multiple roles across the institutional clients group (ICG). He will report to Matthew Bax globally, David Russell regionally, and will be based in Singapore.
