BNP Paribas today has appointed Philippe Noirot as head of transaction banking for Asia-Pacific. He will be responsible for further driving the momentum of transaction banking in the region, while broadening and deepening business offerings.

Based in Singapore, Noirot reports to Paul Yang, chief executive officer, Asia-Pacific.

With over 21 years of banking experience, Noirot has spent 11 years in Asia-Pacific across diverse roles, including head of liquidity and investment solutions.

Prior to taking up his new role, Noirot was the head of territory for South Korea for seven years, strengthening the bank’s business in the country and deepening its client franchise both locally and abroad, including in Europe and the Americas.

He has also steered the ESG transition of the South Korea platform and supported the strong growth of transaction banking in the country.

Noirot succeeds Chye Kin Wee, who will be retiring in February. In a press statement, BNP Paribas says under Wee’s leadership, its transaction banking business in the region “has achieved impressive heights in both revenues and industry recognition”.
