RQI Investors brings quant value fund outside of Australia
Outperforming strategy now available for Singaporean, European and Canadian investors
The Asset   16 May 2025

RQI Investors, an Australian-based global quantitative manager within the First Sentier Investors group, has launched a Ucits vehicle of its Global Value strategy for investors in the United Kingdom, Europe, Singapore, and Canada.

First unveiled in 2008, the Global Value Fund manages over US$6.5 billion as at March 31. It has delivered top quartile performance versus peers ( both quants and stock pickers ), outperforming the median global value managers in the Nasdaq eVestment database by 3.6%, 2.5%, 1.6% and 1.3% per annum over the last three, five, seven and ten years, respectively, the manager says.

RQI Investors chief executive Andrew Francis comments: “The Global Value strategy is systematic, removing the issues of key person risk, is value-titled and contrarian in its approach. It has a higher yield and lower valuations than the market cap index, providing strong diversification benefits from index investing.

“It captures the value cycle while avoiding the pitfalls of value investing – that is, avoiding value traps and stocks that are cheap for a reason. Its fees are highly competitive versus other active managers and the outcomes have been top quartile over ten years versus value peers.”

The new vehicle is being seeded with US$50 million – US$20 million from a family office and US$30 million from parent company First Sentier Investors.

The strategy is globally managed by Joanna Nash, Ron Guido, Wang Chun Wei, and head of investments David Walsh.
